The Domville 3 (The Domville #3) Page 5
I jumped up and down and clapped my hands as Lisa scurried out of the Signature suite to go and give Brady her decision. After some impeccable and orgasmic shower sex that had blown her mind, finally, he’d left telling her she had an hour before he called the wedding off. I was so happy they were sorting this out. I ran to bedroom four, which we were using as wedding ground zero and got her dress and veil out of the portable steamer, hanging it on one of the rails provided. It looked perfect, not a crinkle in sight. I laid out her silk lace topped stockings, suspender belt, tiny lace knickers adorned with diamantes and pearls, then smiled as I set her matching corset down. If she could use her new found sexual confidence tonight, she was going to rock Brady’s world. After putting out her shoes and accessories, I hurried back to my room to get ready myself. When I ventured out of the ridiculously awesome shower, with a towel around myself and another in a turban on my head, I shrieked with shock to find Lisa sitting on my bed.
‘So?’ I asked, after regaining my composure.
‘It’s on,’ she smiled, her grin threatening to split her face.
‘Yay!’ I clapped excitedly and ran over to hug her tightly. This was amazing news. ‘I’m so happy for you.’
‘Me too. God, please let this be all the drama we’re going to face. I can’t take anymore.’
‘Smooth sailing from here on out, what can possibly go wrong if you can survive this?’ I asked, pulling back to study her face.
‘Nothing at all,’ she confirmed. ‘Though you’d better prepare for your life to change pretty soon.’
‘Why?’ I frowned. ‘You’re not leaving me? Moving to the New York or Hong Kong offices are you?’
‘No,’ she laughed. ‘But you may be an Auntie a lot sooner than you thought.’
‘You are preggers,’ I screamed in delight. This really was too much excitement and drama in one day.
‘No,’ she giggled, her eyes twinkling with joy. ‘But we’re going to try straight away.’
‘O my God. I can’t wait. You’ll have such pretty babies. Right come on, before Anita, Wedding Co-ordinator from hell, marches in here and shoots me for not having you in the dining room for lunch as per “the plan,”’ I air quoted with a roll of my eyes. Jesus, that woman was organised to the second. I ought to set her up with Roger, he’d chill her out within minutes. I decided against that plan. I may not be going there again, but it didn’t mean I wanted to watch him with other women. No way.
I kissed Lisa and swept a hand over my sleek shining hair, which I’d tucked behind one ear. I loved my dress, a rich royal purple with a lime green sash and the cutest purple high heels to match. I was given the nod by Anita, indicating it was my turn to walk up the aisle and I counted in my head to slow myself down and keep in time to the music. My heart rose up into my mouth as I looked up to where Brady was standing. Roger was by his side looking so damn handsome in his formal wedding suit, with a purple cravat. His dark hair had been styled into an effortless mess that just begged for me to run my fingers through it. I gulped as I saw his rich brown sparkling eyes travel down my body, lingering on my bare legs. They then moved back up to look me in the eye, as a lazy knowing smile spread across his face and he winked at me. He was thinking about my legs wrapped around his waist as he’d fucked me, the dirty bastard. O God, now I was too. My stomach flipped at the same time as my pussy clenched, to stem a wave of arousal building up inside me. My cheeks went pink as I forced myself to scowl at him. Dream on big boy, never happening again, I warned him in my head as I took my place opposite and tried to look anywhere but at him. Damn him for being so bloody hot. As Brady was saying his vows, my eyes drifted back over to Roger and the look on his face was unusually soft and emotional. Great, don’t tell me Mr. One Night Stand had a heart under all of his armour as well? My breath caught in my throat as he looked at me too. I waited for one of his winks or dirty looks, but instead he just gave me a dazzling, sexy as hell smile. O shit, I was in so much trouble. I needed to steer clear of him today. I was tired, emotional, vulnerable and horny. A dangerous combination with a Roger in the mix.
He offered me his white cotton handkerchief as he held out his right arm for me to link mine in, ready to follow the happy couple down the aisle.
‘Thanks,’ I sniffed, scolding myself for being emotional in front of him. Their vows had been so heartfelt. I took a deep breath, closing my eyes for a second and savouring the scent of him. Whatever aftershave he was wearing needed to be renamed Knicker Wettingly Awesome it was that gorgeous.
‘You ok?’ he asked as we started to walk together.
‘Fine,’ I uttered, dabbing my eyes with my free hand and offering his handkerchief back to him.
‘Keep it. You can sniff that as much as you like when you need a reminder of how good I smell. No need to try and be subtle, taking a deep breath when you’re standing next to me,’ he smirked. Shit, caught in the act.
‘Please, you’ve slapped on that much cologne there’ll be a two metre wide exclusion zone around you. Is this a new tactic for pulling women? Slather it on so that they can’t sniff out your bullshit and the outdated cheesy chat up lines you use.’ I smiled sweetly at the guests to my right who were clapping.
‘Worked on you didn’t it? Had you dropping your knickers like they were on fire. O wait a minute, they actually were on fire, because you wanted me so badly.’
‘Me?! Wow, your short memory matches your short sized cock. You pursued me remember. I was telling you where to go when you grabbed me, kissed me and squeezed my arse and breast at the same time.’
‘Short cock,’ he chortled. ‘Then I must have imagined you screaming “Roger, Roger, O God, you’re so big. It’s incredible,” as I pounded you, four times, while you kept coming over and over!’
‘I was desperate, it had been a quiet few months and you were there. Right place, right time. I was also drunk and beer goggles tend to make things seem a lot better than they actually are. So your three inch weener just looked three times bigger. Don’t flatter yourself,’ I warned under my breath, thinking how much I’d give just to touch it again, let alone suck it or have it filling me so completely. ‘Mr. Austin, nice to see you again, thanks for an amazing Spa day yesterday,’ I nodded as I saw Brady and Lisa’s boss. He gave me a charming smile that made my body shiver. Christ, any good looking guy just looking my way was pretty much all the foreplay I needed right now.
‘Harsh light of day, huh? Is that why your tits suddenly look like shrivelled fried eggs now? It was just the drink was it?’
‘You’re such an arse, I hate you, you know that right?’ I scowled up at him as we approached the orangery, with a few minutes to spare before the meet and greet line-up.
‘You didn’t hate me when your lips were around my cock, sucking it like it was your favourite flavoured lollipop, or when my tongue was inside you, licking your sweet pussy clean each time you gushed. I still have bald patches from where your fingers pulled my bloody hair out you were riding my face so hard.’
‘Like you weren’t groaning every time you slammed into me, telling me I was the tightest girl you’d ever been with? Don’t make out that the pleasure from one night of madness, on both parts, was one sided.’
‘Never said you weren’t good, you sucked my cock with the power of a Dyson, I swear it added an extra inch. I can show you in the toilets if you want?’ he cocked a cheeky brow at me and I narrowed my eyes at him again as I quickly slid my arm away from his.
‘The only reason I’ll be going to the toilets is to throw up, because you make me physically sick, Roger Cockburn,’ I announced indignantly as I marched off through the old stone doorway to the private bar. In reality I needed a moment of space from him, to clear my head of the pretty indecent thoughts I was having about him slamming me up against the wall and taking me, like the sexually aggressive guy he was. I also needed to wipe myself dry, his dirty talk had me flooding. Damn him. I approached the ladies’ to find Brady pacing back and forth outside.
‘Mandy, thank God. Will you go and check Lisa’s alright? She’s just had a funny turn.’
‘What? Is she ok?’ I looked at him concerned, waiting for a response.
‘I’ve no idea, we were talking at the bar, then she went really pale, ran in there and I’m pretty sure I can hear her crying and being sick.’
‘Really, she looked fine earlier. I’ve eaten the same for breakfast and lunch and I feel ok.’
‘Go and check on her please, I need to know she’s ok,’ he pleaded. I nodded and pushed on the heavy swinging oak door to find her bent over the sink, her face deathly white.
‘My God, what’s going on? Brady’s in a state out there wondering what’s happened. Is it food poisoning?’ She shook her and started crying. ‘Lisa, what’s wrong?’ I rushed to her side and rubbed her back with one hand, as I turned on the tap to clear the vomit splatters from the sink. ‘Are you pregnant already?’ I asked.
‘No,’ she sniffed, giving me a look that assured me that she hadn’t been lying earlier when she told me the same answer.
‘Then what has you looking like someone died?’
‘I just met … Brady’s dad,’ she forced out between sobs.
‘Shit, I was spot on. No wonder you look like you’ve seen a ghost. I thought he was dead. That’s quite the wedding present, reincarnation of a loved one.’
‘Stepdad,’ she reminded me. I grimaced and nodded. Brady had called him Dad, it was easy to just accept that he’d been his natural Dad. I’d forgotten he wasn’t. ‘I’ve just met his … real dad.’ Lisa looked at me as if that was supposed to clear things up for me.
‘O,’ I stated, none the wiser. ‘Surprising, but that doesn’t explain why you’re so upset?’
‘It’s not the first time we’ve met,’ she replied, leaving me more perplexed. Surely I’d have remembered her telling me she’d met Brady’s real father?
‘I’m so confused. You met his real dad before, but you’re upset he’s here today?’
‘I met him … I … his name’s Simon,’ she whispered, giving me another strange look.
‘Simon? Wow, talk about coincidences, wasn’t the guy you fucked last night called Simon?’ She closed her eyes and pinched the top of her nose. Suddenly it hit me. Hard. ‘O. My. God. You’re not telling me the Simon you fucked multiple times last night is Brady’s father? The guy who tongued your arse and gave you a pearl necklace?’ I gasped, looking at her in horror.
‘Yes,’ she nodded, suddenly looking around at the same time as I did when we heard a shocked gasp, only to see Brady standing holding the oak door back with a weird look on his face. He’d heard. Fuck!
The next few minutes went past in a blur, Brady was understandably shocked and furious, Lisa was inconsolable as she tried to calm him down, but he wouldn’t listen to reason, not even when I suggested a time out for the two of them to discuss this rationally. When he stormed out, Lisa ran after him, so I ran after her, ignoring everyone looking at us strangely.
‘What the hell’s going on?’ Roger asked, stalling me by grabbing my arm as I tried to race out of the orangery after her.
‘Come with me, I need you,’ I urged. ‘They need us.’ I implored him with a look not to ask me why, not with all the guests gathered whispering among themselves.
‘Follow me,’ he nodded, grabbing my hand and starting to run, slowing down to allow me to keep up. If I hadn’t been so worried about poor Lisa, I’d have totally tuned in to the fact that we were holding hands and it felt kind of nice. ‘What’s happened?’ he asked when we were out of earshot as we ran through the gardens back towards the hotel.
‘That stupid bloody pact came back to bite them in the arse, that’s what. You know Lisa had sex with someone last night?’
‘Yeah,’ he nodded with a sigh. ‘Brady took it hard.’
‘Like she did him messing around. Well she didn’t know, but it turns out her guy was Brady’s long lost biological father.’
‘What?!’ Roger spat, halting in his tracks, nearly sending me flying. ‘Fuck. Brady knows this?’
‘Yes and he’s understandably upset. He said he needed space and left Lisa in tears before she ran after him. We need to fix this, Roger, please,’ I begged, my eyes filling with tears. My sister was one of my best friends, the thought of her in so much pain physically hurt me.
‘Come on, we need to catch them before they do anything else stupid,’ he agreed and we started running again. I ignored the sound of my name being called from behind. I was sure it was Dad, but he could wait. My sister needed me. I took a shocked intake of air as we ran up the steps to see Lisa lying on the floor sobbing. Roger let go of my hand immediately and bent down to help her up. When he asked if she was ok, she shook her head. I covered my mouth with my hands as I tried to choke back the tears. She looked completely devastated, I’d never seen her like this before, I never wanted to again. We had to fix this. Her mascara was running down her face and there was blood on her beautiful designer dress. This wasn’t how weddings were supposed to play out. Not Brady and Lisa’s anyway. My heart hurt so badly for her.
‘Mandy, what’s happened?’ came Dad’s demanding voice behind me. I looked around to see he’d arrived with Mum and Anita in tow. She looked like she was about to have a heart attack, this had royally fucked up her precision planning. I looked up at Roger for help.
‘There’s been a slight situation between Lisa and Brady, I think it’s best if you all leave Mandy and I to try and sort it out.’
‘A situation?’ Mum asked, looking at us stunned. ‘They just got married, what could possibly have happened in the last ten minutes.’
‘We have guests waiting for the line-up, what am I supposed to tell them? This is most irregular, I don’t want to appear unprofessional’ Anita added. I scowled at her, ready to punch her in the face. My sister’s world was falling apart and Anita was worried about looking bad? Thankfully Roger took charge of the situation as all of them started talking at once, telling them that it wasn’t our place to say what had happened, but it was unlikely that the newly married couple would be joining the guests for the meal or evening reception. I looked around to go and comfort Lisa, only to find her discarded designer heels lying on the floor and no sight of her.
‘Roger, she’s gone,’ I called over my shoulder as I started to run towards the hotel lobby. I caught my breath as I spotted her, sitting on the floor outside of the main entrance doors. Strangers were gathering, looking at her, pointing and whispering. I wanted to scream at them to stop, she was falling apart, she didn’t need this. I ran outside to stand next to her, looking around trying to spot Brady, but I couldn’t see him anywhere. Surely he hadn’t just left her like this and done a runner?
‘I’ve got this,’ came Roger’s oddly calming voice next to me. I looked up at him and nodded, then watched as he crouched down next to her. She was totally oblivious that we were even here, she was just staring blankly at the crimson stain all over her dress. ‘Come on, Lisa. Let’s get you inside and cleaned up,’ Roger said gently as he carefully lifted her up into his arms, completely in charge of the crisis. I looked at him in amazement. I’d never seen this side of him, the mature, confident and competent Roger. I liked it. Lisa burst into tears and buried her face in his chest, so he dipped his face down and kissed her forehead.
‘Deep breaths or you’ll be sick,’ he murmured, planting another kiss in her hair.
‘O, Lisa. He’ll be back. He just needs to cool down. It was a hell of a shock. It’s Brady. It’s you and Brady. You’re the most meant to be couple I’ve ever known,’ I tried to reassure her as I followed Roger, who was heading towards the lift, all Officer and a Gentleman, my sister in his arms. I swiped my card and stepped in after him, standing in the opposite corner as we headed up to the penthouse. I shook my head, unsure what else I could say, when he caught my eye and did the same as he pressed his lips together tightly. He was as stunned as I was. ‘First bedroom on the right,’ I advised him as we entered t
he corridor leading to our suites. He nodded and I ran ahead to open the door and gesture towards the bed. I wrung my hands, feeling totally useless as he lay her down and kissed her forehead again while stroking her hair.
‘Try and calm down, babe. I’ll go and see if I can find him and talk this out. He’ll be fine when he’s had a bit of distance, he just needs a bit of time’ he told her, then kissed her cheek. In that moment I wanted to hug and kiss him for being so good with her. I gave him a grateful smile as he turned to face me, a serious look all over his face.
‘Get him back here as soon as you can, Rog. Can you go and get Anita to sort everyone out downstairs, she must have some contingency plan for things going wrong, surely? I’m going to stay with Lisa. She shouldn’t be on her own right now.’
‘Look after her,’ he nodded. ‘I’ll ring you with an update as soon as I can.’
I smiled in response and held out my hand, offering him the key card to our suite. I wasn’t going to be leaving here anytime soon. Wherever Lisa went, I was going to follow. She needed me, a poor substitute for Brady I may be, but I was the best she had right now. He pocketed it and left as I rushed over to sit on the bed next to my heartbroken sister, stroking her hair as she started to sob even harder. I grabbed the tablet off the bedside charging dock and called Gaston, asking for some medical supplies for her knee, which was bleeding quite badly. He said he’d send up the hotel doctor immediately. I sighed, feeling so upset as I looked down at Lisa’s dress. Would that blood ever come out? Then again, a ruined wedding dress was the least of her worries, when her marriage might be the thing that was ruined beyond repair. I shook my head in disbelief. I had to believe that they’d get through this. No one with a relationship as long and strong as theirs could fail now. She completely lost it when I suggested getting her out of her dress and into her pyjamas before the doctor came, stubbornly refusing to take it off as she started to hyperventilate from crying too much. I wanted to scream. I was the maid of honour, it was my job to look after her and right now I felt as useful as a butter kettle.
